November 30th, Ancient Greece Wax Museum Day!
Our annual Ancient Greece Wax Museum was wonderful! The kids did an amazing job preparing for their parts. The costumes were so awesome and they knew their information so well! We had a great time showing what we learned about the Greek gods and goddesses. Here are a few photos of some of our kids. Thank you to our families who helped make this a great experience!

Week of August 29th
We hope everyone had a restful weekend and you were able to keep cool. We are looking forward to the start of our "fall" weather sometime in the future! :)
This week's skills are the following:
Math: Continuing to work on place value and concepts relating to place value, extending number patterns using a 100 number chart, identifying odd and even numbers. Our first assessment will be on Friday. Talk with your children and make up some games comparing numbers to each other. Ask them which number is greater than/less than and then use the symbols <, >, and = to compare them. It'll be fun :)
Reading: Our literature story for the week is The Day Jimmy's Boa Ate the Wash. We will be working with vocabulary, and comprehension and reading some non-fiction text about snakes!
Social Studies: We will be learing about maps and will make and use a compass rose. We will also be developing the understanding that maps have keys/legends with symbols and how to use them. At the end of the week, we will be identifying and locating the 7 continents and 5 oceans.
Here are some photos of our kids learning all about the globe and its features. They did a great job!
If you have any cardboard soda "flats" at home, (the ones that the 4-packs of canned sodas come in at Costco or the like) please send them in. We will recycle them for you! We have a fun upcoming activity that we use them for.
Have a great week!
